Some of our nurses put in a bit of extra work to make their miracles happen.
About a month and a half ago, Ruby, an Aveanna patient with Pompe disease, was admitted to the hospital for respiratory distress. She had to stay in the hospital for about 6 days. Unfortunately, one of those days was October 31st.
Ruby’s nurse, Michele, hated to see her patient miss out on all the Halloween festivities. The hospital where Ruby was admitted was a two-hour drive from Michele’s home, but distance couldn’t stop this miracle worker. Michele and her husband donned their costumes and traveled to the hospital just to see Ruby. They knew it would put a smile on her face, and that made it all worth it.
