The Aveanna team was so excited to see our patient Maksim at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles annual Walk and Play L.A. event last month. Maksim didn't just attend the event – he showed up in style with a new costume!
Maksim uses his costume creations as an opportunity to implement therapy while decorating and painting. His designs have become so popular at Walk and Play L.A. that he has fans waiting every year to see what costume he comes in.
This year, Maksim decided he wanted to be a dog catcher. Maksim is no stranger to dogs. He and his mom, Maki, are part of the CHLA dog therapy program.
Maki and one of the family’s dogs (ChoCho) work as a dog therapy team at CHLA, while Maksim helps with training and evaluating dogs who are learning to be part of a therapy team. Maksim and Maki are currently working on creating a new dog therapy team with Madge, their rescue bulldog mix.
