When Jennifer joined the Aveanna family as a field nurse 16 years ago, she wasn’t planning on making a career in home care. Then she discovered the power of one-on-one nursing care, found an incredible support system, and realized Aveanna was a better place to lead.
“I didn’t think home care was for me at first,” Jennifer recalls. “But something told me to give it a try, and I fell in love. It is such an honor to be with patient families every day, standing with them through both successes and heartbreaks.”
As a field nurse, Jennifer loved connecting with her patients and seeing their progress every day. When an advancement opportunity came along, she was excited at the possibility of helping even more families but wasn’t sure she was ready to take that next step. Luckily, her supervisor at the time told her that she was and that the team would be behind her every step of the way.
Along with Jennifer’s clinical skills and heart for care, encouragement and support from her supervisors over the years has helped her become the leader she is. “I really feel like I have grown up at Aveanna,” Jennifer says. “I have always had supervisors and mentors cheering me on. Without help from clinical leaders like Jacque Holland and Beth Rubio, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
With her support system and boundless compassion, Jennifer continues to serve our patients, their families, and her fellow nurses and caregivers, now as Area Clinical Vice President. “I just love what I’m doing and who I’m serving,” Jennifer shares. “It’s a great responsibility and privilege to help care for our patients and families, to be part of their stories, and impact their lives forever. I can’t imagine doing anything else.”
